ETA processing time

Applied an eTa on 7/7/2016- will be travelling after in October so will definitely need eTa. I have not received a response after the initial email about my application is under review. Tried calling and the system is telling me still in progress. Any ideas why its taking so long?

was there anything special about your ETA application? Normally it will take a few minutes to get it approved. You can send a CSE and ask what's happening?

no CR or medical, been to Canada before.... Have sent a CSE- no reply yet.

Good thing is you applied on time. So i would't worry if you don't have a CR or anything which can influence an approval. Hooe you will receive an answer or the eta soon.

hmm strange. I'm not sure if this is the way to go but maybe you can contact the visa office in your country? What's your nationality? Do you have dual nationality?

That's strange. I applied for ETA voluntary and it wasn't 2 minutes approval for me (not like USA ESTA was), they asked me itinerary, proof of funds, etc... But I uploaded the docs and was approved in like 2 days. In my case I applied in October 2015 and previously I was in Canada in July 2015 without doing ETA.

I think you'll need to contact CIC by phone asap, is strange your timeline...

CIC seems no help at all. Will give visa office a call tomorrow. Getting really frustrated.... Should I create a CIC account just in case they have requested extra info but I didn't get any emails?

Didn't you create a Gckey account? When I applied I already had one so I linked the application to my account. I'm not saying this is your problem, but when they ask something this is showed in your account even if by X reason the email they normally send you didn't come.

Are you sure that you've entered all details correctly and answered all questions truthfully? Have you received a confirmation of the ETA or anything regarding this? I checked my emails and I only received 1 which contains the approval of the ETA. try to contact the Sydney VO and ask if they can provide some information.

So, the only thing is they are in the middle of checking something with your app... If they ask info outside CIC to other gov agencies it can of course delay the app like that.
You said that you previously have been in Canada, did you have any problem? Tax, Work.... I don't know...
