Hi,

I entered Canada 2 weeks ago and stated I would be staying 21 days to visit my fiancé. I’m a UK resident who has been temporarily living in Australia. With Australia’s borders closing I can’t return there, and international travel being advised against I was wanting to remain in Canada for longer than originally stated. I know I’m okay to stay for 6 months on my ETA, but I wondered if I’d have any issues as I’d be staying longer than what I declared at the border.

Is there any way of fixing this, as I don’t want it to show as an overstay or that I’ve given incorrect information.

Thanks in advance

As long as you didn't get a stamp with an earlier date and weren't issued a Visitor Record, you are fine to stay 6 months. It is not an overstay.

hi i wanted to know what happens if the person has stamp on the passport and has overstayed !! can it be fixed ?? how ??

Depends on the details. How long have you overstayed?

like if overstayed more than 30 days then what can be the repercussion and how can i overcome it or if i overstayed more than 6 months from date of stamp

If it's 6 months, then you can't do anything and need to leave Canada as soon as you can.

If it's 30 days, then you should apply for restoration as soon as possible.
