Hello I got my wife's landing papers and am booking a flight.

Do I need an eta?

The airplane company says I need an eta but I have landing papers so is that basically a permanent resident document?

I know I have to land and get the card mailed later.

For the sake of getting on that plane I would get one. Most airlines do not understand the rules about Corp and landing. So stay on the safe side and get one.

The eTA is automatically granted when the COPR is issued, so no need to apply for one separately.
