ETA Incorrect Info

We hold the British passports and applied for Eta myself, wife and child . On our eta application we made mistake . Me and my wife were refused visit visa while Indian passport from England while on student visa in UK.

Mistakes
1.On My wife eta application I entered wrong year by mistake refusal was in 2010 and said 2011 .
2. we were refused another UK business visa whiten UK in 2013 which we did not mention on Eta application .

Mistakes on my Eta

1. I forget to mention Canada visa refusal in 2010 but did mention about visit visa was granted in 2011 to me and I did visit to Canada for 3 weeks .

Now we got letter from CIC regarding these as we did not mention and they gave us chance to explain that . I have sent them all the copies of Indian passport for both us with refusal stamp and visa grant page for me . Also sent the copy of refusal letter form UK visa .

Anyone has any idea what they do in this type situation . Will they approve eta if not can we apply again for eta for have to get the visa . Please some one can share their experience.

You should expect to wait anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to hear back from IRCC. There are three possible things that could happen: (1) They accept your explanation and the eTA is approved; (2) They simply refuse the eTA and you must reapply; (3) They refuse the eTA and also issue a five year ban against you for misrepresentation.

Nothing you can do now but wait.

I guess nothing else than wait we can do . But it was genuine mistake there was nothing we have to hide from them . Both of those refusal wont effect on eta if we have told them in start .

IRCC has no way of knowing if the misrepresentation was intentional or unintentional. It's very important to read the questions closely and make sure they are answered accurately. This responsibility lies with you as the applicant.

It's hard to guess what the outcome will be in your case since you failed to mention two refusals. As you said, nothing you can do but wait. Good luck and hopefully you are either approved or it's a simple refusal.

Hi Yes after we send the details why we did not mention the correct details we had ETA approved in week .Hope that help

Thank you for the response. What explanation did you give to explain the mistake on failing to disclose the previous refusal? I am in a similar situation, and my study permit is approve but not my ETA. I have been waiting a month after sending in my explanation.
