Hi all,

Hope everyone is doing well!

I am awaiting my application for Outland Family Sponsorship via the London Office - Due to COVID, i am expecting some delays but hopping it wont be to long!

Question 1

Currently, when I log onto my application online it says: Estimated Completion Date October 30 2020.

Is there any chance that they will respect this date?

The last thing I have done for the application is complete all of the following and submit (that was all done in January/february):
  1. Supplementary Information Your travels - IMM5562e
  2. Schedule A - IMM5669
  3. Family information form - IMM5707
  4. Police Certificate
  5. Proof of Upfront Medical exam
  6. RCMP Criminal check
I have not heard from them since.

Question 2

(I am canadian citizen and will be applying for Proof of citizenship + passport for my baby soon)

My wife and I welcomed a baby to our family on august 9th - I have sent a notice via webform to let them know, but nothing so far.

How do you believe this will affect my application? Do I need to provide them with any additional forms? if so which ?

Thank you all in advance!

In response to question 1, the estimated completion date is, I assume, 12 months exactly since your application was received. This just serves to reiterate the estimated processing times and, as with the accompanying progress bar, has no actual connection to the progress on your file. More so than ever with COVID related delays, you can basically ignore it as it has nothing to do with when your application will actually be processed.

I’m afraid I don’t know about question 2!

If the baby is Canadian citizen by decent, then need not be sponsored. So no effect on your spouse's application.

No impact as your child will be a citizen. They may ask for a copy of your application for citizenship for the child (but they may not). If you wanted to get ahead of this, you could send it to them by webform.

Hi all,

I started this thread a while back and was happy with the answers.

Regarding question 2:

I received two Emails from Immigration which are EXTREMELY confusing:

1st Email:
"Congratulations on the birth of your new Child!

As your child has claim to canadian citizenship, please do apply for her proof of citizenship and then canadian passport. Please also provide us with the following:
- IMM5406
- Your dependant Birth certificate
- Copy of Canadian Passport (once received)

Thanks "

2nd Email:

"Dear Applicant,

If your child has a claim to Canadian citizenship, please apply for their Canadian citizenship and passport. You child should travel to Canada on their Canadian passport and cannot be added to your sponsorship application as a dependent. For more information on how to apply, please see this this link..."

Im a bit confused as to why they would send me two E-mails to start with.

My new questions:

In first Email they mention IMM5406, and 2nd Email they say I don't need to add my baby to the application, so:
Do I need to provide them with the IMM5406? and where can I find it if I do?

The passport can take 5-8 month to receive for the baby - I am hopping this does not delay my application.

Do I send them the documents via the webform?

Thank you again!
