What is the process of establishing a branch of a US LLC/sole-proprietorship, owned by a dual citizen (US/CA) and how can it support employees (executives) that are US citizens only? Company provides software as a service and requires no brick and stick presence anywhere. My interest is to legally be within CA borders, along with my 2 adult children who reside with me. Pros/cons?

First off Canada does not have LLC
We have corporations or LP
Limited partnerships

First off why would you need to be in Canada without a physical presence ?
Sounds like you just want to set up a quasi company to have the US citizens live in Canada

For the purpose of incorporation I would register a Canadian corporation and just have the US company as shareholder. You will need to have a Canadian citizen/PR as director.

For the purpose of living in Canada, this is not a valid path to establish a presence there. If that was the case nobody would be going through the Express Entry or programs for entrepreneurs :-)
