Dear

I live in 3 bed flat in Karachi Pakistan. I was quoted 4000 USD for 20 ft container shipment to toronto --
and then another estimated 1500 USD from canadian station to home in canada.

Does this sound reasonable ? Has anyone got a quote for say india or pakistan along similar lines ?

The value of my furnishings is maybe 2000 USD -- so does it make since to ship ones furnishing at such high costs ? Isnt it better to sell all in local country and then just buy same from IKEA or garage sales in canada ?

Thanks

1, The quote seems low.
2. The cost of $5500 to ship something worth $2000 seems to be a no brainer. Sell locally, get a few $, ship only what you consider valuable and buy used in Canada.

Dear sarimraza

i am also in the similar situation, I want to send my furniture and household stuff to Calgary using sea freight. probably a 20ft container.
can you provide me the contact detail of the company you are hiring for the shipping container?

thanks a lot.
