Hello,

I have a question from a friend and I can't find an answer anywhere and nobody knows for sure.

A friend and spouse want to come to Canada with study permit/ SOWP (as we did), the problem is that the spouse can't speak proper English and won't pass the academic IELTS to be accepted to the program she wants, plus the program doesn't give conditional acceptance, so she needs to apply for the permit for ESL as a separate course before she can submit the docs for the other program.

The question is: Do they offer SOWP for ESL student spouse. In the CIC Web page just mention that you need to be enrolled in a university and doesn't say anything about ESL being exclude.

Can someone give me an answer on this and or a link to verify this info?

Even if she gets into an ESL program and eventually gets too Canada. None of the employers will hire her due to her English.

1. No, the spouse of an ESL can't get a SOWP.
