I honestly don't know. It seems like I passed eligibility but application is not finalized yet. I was above the cutoff by around 50 points. If they had declined my ESL points, I would still be above the cutoff and (I think) wouldn't know they didn't accept it.

However, I did call CIC and asked about this, the rep asked someone else too and said as long as you answer the questions correctly (which I did) and the system gave you points for it, you should be eligible for these points.

This question has been bothering me and I still don't have an answer to it. Members here say you can't and if you answer all the application questions correctly, the system gives you points for it.

Hope this helps
You did in fact answer a question incorrectly. The answer to the below question should have been no rather than yes.

Was this degree, diploma or certificate:
  • from a public post-secondary school, such as a college, trade/technical school, university or CEGEP (in Quebec)
  • from a private post-secondary school that operates under the same rules as public schools
  • a diplôme d'études professionnelles (DEP) or an attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP) earned through a qualifying study program of at least 900 hours from a private school in Quebec, or
  • a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate degree from a Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law. (The student must have been enrolled in a study program that led to a degree as set out by the province.)

Hello everyone, I hope everything is fine with you all!

I have a question about this as well because it is indeed very confusing.
I know I cannot claim points for ESL or FSL, however, I did go to school for that and I am not sure if I need to add that to my educational history.

Do you guys know if I have to add I did those courses or I can just mention on the letter of explanation?

Hi, I was wondering if you ended up getting approved?
