Error on Citizenship certificate

The IRCC at oath told that after receiving the certificates check both sides of the certificate for any errors.

If there are any errors contact them immediately. I have sent them an email, but no reply. what to do now?

I have tried to call the office many times with no luck.

It is their mistake, what to do now?

They did not place my new name, they printed my old name on the certificate. I have mentioned my new name in the application and submitted supporting legal name change documents and provincial Ids with a new name.

Webform and more calling with all relevant information handy.

I'd try to get it resolved within a reasonable period of time of the certificate issuance to avoid any possibility of having to go through reissuance through "Proof of Citizenship" channel which will start its own clock.

Can I contact the local MP or do I have to contact a lawyer to solve the name issue.

Send emails to the addresses that sent you the test and oath invitations. Type "Last Name - Application Number - URGENT CERTIFICATE ERROR" in the Subject. Web form is useless.

While that is in progress, you can apply for passport with the same supporting documentation provided in the citizenship application. Technically, this error should not stop you from anything.
