Entry visa for India + Surrender indian passport

Hi, I have recently received canadian passport and have to apply for an entry visa to india for my travel plans in Jan end. I spoke to the BLS agent and learnt that i can submit both entry visa and surrender applications together. I am using the Purolator pick up and drop service.

I have few questions while filling up the entry visa application form:

1. under section B, they ask if there is any other valid passport held. Should i say Yes to that or No? since i am simultaneously submitting my surrender application, i am not sure.
2. under section F, they ask about previous visit details. I am not sure how to answer that since i travelled last on my Indian passport and they only ask visa details if i say Yes to travelling in the past.

If anyone has had this similar situation and successfully managed to get through it, please help.

You're not planning to visit the BLS center and will be sending your Visa & Surrender application through Purolator, is that correct?

I'm asking because I see this on the bls visa information page..

Bio-metrics is compulsory for all Visa applicants.(Kindly add the point in applicant's appointment receipt too). Applicants between the age of 12-70 must be present personally at the BLS Center to apply for the same.

How would this work if application is sent/received back through mail?

That’s right. However I spoke to the agent today and he only suggested this process so I guess it’s not required.

Hi, i am sure you have received some sort of update or have already received your passport. i received my passport on the 10th day after my application was received at the consulate general. my surrender certificate is still being worked upon.

Hey, I have question regarding bank drafts.
Did you add two bank drafts or only one ?
Could you please tell me how much it was ?

i submitted only 1 draft, added both the amounts for surrender and visa and created only one draft. i dont recall the total amount but i guess it was around $240

We had to resend the surrender passport application again on Dec 6 (BLS received it on Dec 8th) as we misspelled a name. I waited till 14th to see if they would update the status of the applications, but that never happened. We had to personally visit the BLS office and have them verify the documents , as they never opened the documents (for 1 whole week).

Applications just got updated to "Under process,In Transit from BLS Centre to Consulate General" and we have a flight on Dec 25th. Called the embassy (no one answered) and emailed them to see if the entry visa application could be processed under emergency basis (wife's mom needs assistance during and after kidney transplant).

Surrendering passport department was quick to get back to us, but they are still waiting for the documents to be delivered to the consulate office in Vancouver. We are ow waiting for Visa department to get back to us, one of the officer from Consulate even called us at 7pm and asked us to email cons2 & visa to see if the visa can be processed quickly (which we already did).

I'm frustrated and tired as hell!

No. You have to enter if you are dual citizen

May I please know the timeline u got the entry visa...it's kind of urgent..pls reply soon..thank you in advance
