Entry exit record by CIC

can any body tell the exect situation particulary in recent few months that weather cic keeps record of permanent residents entry and exit from canada.

1.i mean if cic stamp passports at entry or exit

2.if cic enters the record of permanent residents when a permanent resident appear at port of entry in to their computer system or not.

It depends. Are you going for a day trip to the United States or are you going overseas for 6 months? Sometimes they don't even check your ID at certain rural points of entry from the United States. If you fly into the country, they make you fill out a form declaring how long you were out of the country.

Is that something new recently?, because I don't remember doing that in years 2008 and 2007.

No, it's not recent but it's not a special immigration form. It's the customs form where you declare what goods you are bringing. They also ask on there how long you were outside Canada.
