1. Yes. How long she will be allowed to stay will depend on the CBSA officer at the port of entry.Hello,
My mom has a visitor visa in an old passport. The visa will expire on may 2019.My questions:
1-Can she entre to canada with 4 months valid visa and extend her stay here?
2-The valid visa is in old passport but she got her new passport. Is this visa accaptable?
Sure you can try to apply to extend although of course no guarantee of approval or a 6 month extension. Should apply 30 days before expiry of initial authorised stay and whilst application is being processed would be on an implied status pending a decision.Thank you.
Can I extend her visa for 6 monthes more when she is in canada?
(if officer at airport let her to stay only 4 months)
If her passport is expiring within the next few weeks, she has little chance of even being allowed to board the plane. Status is not granted beyond passport expiry, so even if she is able to come to Canada, CBSA could very well refuse entry if they suspect she will overstay beyond November.Dear Sir/Madam,
My mom has a visitor visa and it will expire on late november 2019. Also expire date of her passport is same. The questions is: when is the deadline for entry into canada and how long can she stay there.
Thank you for your reply. let me explain more. As I said before, the expire date of her passport and visa are same both on late November. she wants to travel to Canada on early July and she has decided to take new passport because she think it is better to has a new passport with 5 years validity. Hence, I want to know, is it possible for her to travel to Canada with new passport and the visa that is valid untill last November which is sticking on old passport ?If her passport is expiring within the next few weeks, she has little chance of even being allowed to board the plane.
