Entering Canada Alone without Sponsor

Hi folks, I'm in a tight and frustrating situation.

My wife and step-daughter received their PR in Thailand and we are due to travel by the end of February. My situation is desperate at the moment. I also have a son from a previous relationship that will be traveling on a Temporary visa for the time being until his Canadian passport gets processed.

My situation is as follows. I have established a job that is asking me to tart work before we plan to arrive in Canada. I cannot refuse this job.

Questions:
1) Can my wife and step-daughter fly to Canada alone and I can meet them at the airport
to process their PR papers?
2) Will I be given permission to actually meet them at the port of entry? We are flying to
Vancouver.
3) I first recorded us entering Canada at Toronto, but since I have established
employment in British Columbia, can we enter there?
4) Can my son travel with my wife to Canada on his temporary visa without my presence?

I would truly appreciate some insight to these questions.

Thanks

1) They can land without you. YOu don't have to be there.
2) No - you won't be allowed to join them at immigration. You can only be with them if you arrive on the same flight as they do.
3) It doesn't matter where they enter.
4) Yes - your son can travel with your wife. She will need a permission letter allowing this travel from you. I believe a letter from the child's mother will also be required giving approval for the child to be removed from Thailand.

Thanks for the answers.

My wife doesn't speak English very well and I am afraid there maybe some translation issues.

I have a letter from my son's mother to allow to fly with me. Could I write a letter allowing him to fly with my wife on behave of me or do you think I would need a new letter. I really hope I don't need a new one.

Thanks.

Just a couple of more questions. I've been reading some threads about some people getting denied entry at the border. If she flies alone with her daughter and my son, could she possibly be denied entry? On what grounds would they ask for a bond?

If she has all her paper work, answers her questions and I am waiting for her outside the gate, could she face an issue? I don't think I could return to Thailand to send her to Canada.

Your wife and daughter have PR Visa. As long as they have all required documents, there is very low chance of them getting denied, unless there are serious concerns about identity etc. Relax, they will be fine.

Were you reading threads about peple with tourist visas? They can get refused at the border if the officer doesn't believe they are truly visitors. PRs are almost never refused. The only cases would be if the visa was obtained fraudulently, if their family situation has changed, but they haven't updated the VO, or in one case, when they didn't think that they would actually move to Canada. Since you'll be waiting on the other side, I don't see any issues.

They often have interpreters at the major airports.

Thanks for the support and encouraging words. I'm trying to relax as much as possible but like everyone that has experienced coming to Canada for the first time, it's a nervous and trying time.
