Entering Canada after 1.5 months after the session starts

Hi,

I have received an electronic Offer of Admission for PhD Program starting Spring 2010. Since I have some prior commitments to fulfill I will not be able to enter Canada until 15 July 2010. Will I have any issue in entering Canada 1.5 months after the term has started?

Please advise.

As long as you have a valid visa, you can enter Canada, however, you need to sort out your delay with the school/university. All you need is assurance that your offer will be valid if you delay for 1.5 months. An immigration officer at the airport may ask you why you delayed and so you should be prepared to explain why. You would need to have print-outs of communication (emails etc..) with the university allowing you to start your program 1.5 months late.

I too delayed the start of my graduate studies in Canada for 4 months and I had no problem entering Canada ....I was supposed to start in May 06 but started in September 06

There could be some issue as term would have been started.
