Hi everyone,

Just a quick question regarding whether a day trips to the U.S will negatively affect the accumulation of residence days for Canadian citizenship. For example, if someone went to USA office for work in 5 am and re-entered Canada at 9pm, does he or she lost one day of residence for citizenship qualification?

@links18 mentions that day work commute to USA does not harm accumulation of residence days 5 years ago http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/living-in-canada-work-in-usa-inquiry-t64533.0.html;msg611197#msg611197 Does anyone can kindly confirm if this is sill the case now.

Thanks for your time and attention :)

No, it counts as a full day in Canada.

You do need to list the trip in your application however.
