Enter Canada before start program, where and when get permit

Hi everyone!

I'm a Dutch student, moving to Canada this summer (hopefully) and my program in Vancouver starts in September. However, I'd like to enter the country in July. Does anyone know if there will be any issues if I enter the country earlier and when I'd get my study permit? Is it okay to just arrive at the airport, go to the Immigration Office there, and get the study permit right away?

As long as you have enough money you can come any time before your studies, however, do keep in mind you cannot work before your classes start. So any time you spend in Canada will be a very expensive vacation, also you will have to explain to the border agents why you want to enter Canada early. Your study permit will be issued in the Airport itself by border agents, there is no immigration office.
