Guys,

I have a brother who shifted to Toronto April 2016. He has a daughter in grade 4. Post landing they contacted a school in their area the school took my niece even for the couple of mths as their schools vacation starts from july to September.

so don't worry for the education. its free and they will enroll kids for sure any time.....

except private schools.

Hello Wasiasmet,

To enroll your kids at school, you will need to contact the district school board of the area where you plan to live. If you are out of Canada, visit the website nextstopcanada.ca They can provide different type of information regarding education in Canada.

Good luck on your settlement!

No, you don't. Unless international students, contact the catchment schools directly.

Yes, so long as your children are attending a public school, they can join in the middle of a school year.

They can get enrolled at anytime of the year. I recently moved from US to CAN. I had no problem with that, school / board CANNOT deny admission of the kids in to school as long as long the Kids are PR / Citizen in Canada, that's the rule. They will try to accommodate in the zoned school for your address, if not, they'll advise other school in a nearby zone (location), but you might have to drop / pick-up yourself instead of the school bus. The principal of my kid's school told me about this.

Nope!
As probably you would have observed in my signature, my current status is only AOR. Awaiting for next stages to be cleared.

Hoping to land in Apr-2018
