Employment status while PR under process through SINP

Hi;

I urgently need to go to my home country for a longer time. My employer doesn't want to give me vacation for more than 1 month. I am thinking about leaving the job. I need to know do i have to employed while PR is under process. My Medicals are done too.

Please advise. I will really appreciate your help on this.

Are you on work permit?

I think you can't leave your job because your whole PR application is tied to the work permit.

I wanted to change the role in the same company but my lawyer said it is not a good idea because if they will ask for interview or contact your employer and if you are not working there then you might be in trouble.

I would say delay it if you really can.

Yes I am on closed work permit. Isn't the hours on the job that matters?
