Employment start date to indicate during the 5-year eligibility period

Hi! If your eligibility period is Nov 25, 2018 to Nov 26, 2023, and the date you started work is Jan 5, 2018, do you follow the actual start date of your job, or, in the example provided, the start date of the eligibility period, which is Nov 25, 2018? Thanks in advance!
