Hello,
My employer just copied exactly the description for my NOC code 2174 from the CIC website and put it into the letter. The employer also attached another job description when I was hired in a separate sheet.

Is this acceptable by CIC? Anyone has experience on how to write a employment reference letter.

thank you very much

Exactly copying duties are not recommended and if this is provided to CIC there is an high probability your application will be messed and it would be hard later to convince VO .

Better to write duties by changing the Language and tone of it if you are performing same duties on CIC site.

There were instances , CIC requesting for more details/rejecting the application , if the content copied from the website.
I would recommend to draft a letter in your own words for your roles and responsibilities in the reference letter.

My reference letter looked like below, hope this can help you to start with:

********************************************************************************
