Hi All,

I am in the process of immigration. My concern in employment reference letter.

I worked for 3 different companies and these 3 companies are not willing to give emp: reference letter because of their policies.

What should I do now? what alternative can I choose?

Please help me....

Thanks,

Annie

The following is the route that applicants generally take (for a given company) depending on which condition is met:

- Letter of Reference/Experience with Duties and Responsibilities from the HR or the Designated Supervisor on a Company Letterhead OR
- Letter of Reference/Experience with Duties and Responsibilities on an Affidavit by a Senior/Supervisor with the supporting documents including Employment Contract, Appraisal, Pay Stubs etc OR
- Letter of Reference/Experience with Duties and Responsibilities on an Affidavit by a Colleague with the supporting documents including Employment Contract, Appraisal, Pay Stubs etc OR
- Letter of Reference/Experience with Duties and Responsibilities on a Self Sworn Affidavit with the supporting documents including Employment Contract, Appraisal, Pay Stubs etc

Note - The lower the option you have to settle for, the weaker your case is going to get when CIC evaluates your application.

Thanks Nishesh...One more thing, I have one colleague, but she is also not working in my last company. Is it ok to be signed by her in the Affidavit?

If you have, could you please provide a affidavit sample...

If you go through the checklist , CIC has clearly mentioned that in case if a person is not able to gather documents, he/she needs to provide an affidavit and most importantly an "evidence" to support that company refused to provide u letter. This could be email chains to ur company or written conversation between you and company

Usually HR/Lead/Company Head should provide u reference letter. If u take this from ur colleague u need to attach evidence that ur company wasnt able to provide u with it. Hope this clears ur confusion

Thanks buddy..it is a big relief for me...

Could you please provide a sample affidavit.... I have one friend who is currently not working with my last company. Her affidavit will suffice ? Does it need an affidavit from a person who is working with that company....

U need to get colleagues references from each company u worked, then only will get the relevant points

If you have the OFFER and RELIVING letters for the NOC from which you're claiming the points, then it fulfills 50% of the job. rest, you have to get your ROLES letter and the roles should match at least 60-70% of the duties mentioned on CIC.
Your paystubs, tax returns, reference, experience letters will be additional DOCS. also, make sure you mention your salary, working hours, type of role, references addresses,joining/leaving dates on your letters.

My 1st Company gave me the Letter Of Reference but did not outline the duties. They said that the HR cannot provide such details due XYZ reasons. The whole conversation was over an email with the HR's official Email address and I attached that as evidence of communication between me and the HR.

Good Luck !

it's always better to secure the company issued employment reference letters with roles and responsibilities. It become your case more stronger for the NOC you applied. However the organization refuses to give, you have to go for affadavits, not other options but it will weaken our case.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the advice.

I have one more concern. I have a friend who is ready to give me the affidavit, but she is not working in that company now where I also worked. Is this affidavit valid? Is it mandatory to submit an affidavit from a person who is currently workign in that company..?

Thanks,
Annie

Its fine. Make sure you attach her current business card along with it (recommended).
