Hi,

I am in the process of filing the application FSWP under Express Entry pool. While going thru the Documents Requirement, I understood that for the principal applicant "Letters of reference from all the employers for last 10 years." is required.

Employers in India may not agree to provide the "Employment Reference Letter" as they only provide Offer Letter (At the time of joining the organization) and Experience Letter (At the time of relieving the organization),

What Alternate Document can be accepted by Immigration?

Pls. reply.

Hi Stanlee,

Thanks for your quick reply. The post was useful. However in my case the supervisors from all the previous employment are not any more associated with the organizations. I have also contacted the HR, and according to them the companies only provide the relieving letters which has following details-

1. Designation
2. DOJ and DOR
3. Grade Level

In this case what do you suggest for "Employment Reference Letter" ? Pls. reply.

Appreciate for your help and guidance.

Under Express Entry you get maximum points for 3 years of work experience under NOC skill type 0, A or B. So, for the employer from whom you are finding it difficult to get the experience letter, you may choose not to claim points for those employment. For these employers you need not submit any reference letter.

If for the 3 years or more work experience which you are using to claim points, the letter does not contain details as per IRCC (CIC) requirement, then you can submit the letter given by HR along with a letter from a supervisor as mentioned in the link that I shared. You can submit these two and substantiate your case with a Letter of Explanation and provide all other supporting documents (pay slips, employment contract etc).

In case the supervisors are no longer associated with the company, you can still get a letter from them on plan paper with the requisite details and get it notarized. Get their current visiting card and link to their LinkedIn profile which will show the common company that you both worked for. Submit all of these with an LOE.

All the best!
