Hi everyone,
I got my PPR on the 22nd and my passport was received on the 26th, now
just waiting to get it back.
2 days ago I got laid off from my job. I don't think I need to notify CIC, since
it doesnt say that anywhere. My understanding is that I would just need
to inform them whether i got married/divorced/new baby.
However, I wonder if me being unemployed would be an issue during
landing. I read about other people's landing experience and it seems like
sometimes they ask you about your place of work and want to see your
pay steps. Does anyone know whether being unemployed would be an
issue?
Thanks

No - you don't need to tell them you're unemployed. It's not an issue.

Scylla is right, you don't have to tell them that you're not employed.

Thanks guys!
however, during the landing interview, I may be asked to provide the name of my employer
and I would have to say that I am unemployed. Would there be an issue then?

No, they don't even ask for that. They have you answer the questions on the CPR, like have you been
convicted of a crime etc and that's it. No other questions asked.
