Hi everyone,
my wife was able to get TRV while her immigration is still in process. we wanted to know if it would be a good idea for her to start applying for jobs.
i know most companies will not wait for her immigration to be processed, they would want someone to start working in 2-3 weeks. But is there a chance that the company
gives her a temporary work permit til her immigration is processed? Or somehow speedup her immigration process?
any guidance will be really appreciated.

There's no way for an employer to `give her' a temporary work permit. The employer would need to go through the LMIA process, which would be costly for them and would take a bit of time...which is why most don't do it for those that are already in-process for their PR.

Her only option for working might be to work remotely (via the internet/phone) for a company or individual that is outside of Canada.

thanks for the reply ponga. I thought that if you are a spouse of a Canadian citizen you don't have to go through the LMIA process. According to this link:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/apply-who-permit.asp

spouses who are in Canada and have applied for immigration are exempt.

I was wondering if someone has gone through this situation before?

That would only apply if you had applied inland, but it appears you applied outland. There is no OWP available for outland applicants.

That's good. There are many opportunities in QA. I have 8 years experience as a software developer. I continuously apply for jobs and I get several calls but the moment I say I require a work permit they ask me to get in touch after I get PR. :)

Also the link you shared is just the starting point, keep digging on how to apply when in Canada and u will come to a place where it says In Canada PR applicants whose eligibility has been determined are eligible to apply for OWP.

As others have said, she doesn't qualify for an OWP. They applied for PR outland. You only qualify for an OWP if you apply inland. If she wants a work permit before she has PR - she will need to obtain an LMIA.

I know. That's what I tried to say .. "In Canada PR applicants". That outland applicants are not eligible.

Meanwhile you will wait.you can search about job opportunities and check if she need any Qualification assessment if her Profession is Regulated in Canada.
Or just Prepare for Interview or any informal job related study that she can do Online.
This page might be helpful to Prepare yourself to Work in Canada.

That page is not much help, because his wife is not yet ELIGIBLE to work in Canada. `Newcomers' refers to a person that has already immigrated to (or has authorization to work in) Canada.

Ok...but what does THIS mean, because you are responsible for what you say:
Do you see i have said for Preset ??

Looks like you're doing the same thing you did before your account was suspended; replying to posts without adding much information, just to watch your count go up!

It does mean that if i am referring for future and you read as present i can not make you more educated.
I do not care what you will say about anything as i did not answer to your Question.
Your are no one to say if i should answer to someone or not.
You think always that you should only answer to someone not anyone else.
I can say same thing.you are here to just get counts go up.
so then anything else ??
