Hi,
My question is how old can the employment letter be acceptable? I have an employment letter that will be about a month and half old when I will be submitting the PR application. Is this acceptable?

Thansk,

Thansk,
My guess is that if the agent who deals with your case cares at all about your employment status that he or she would contact your employer regardless of the age of the letter, so it shouldn't matter that much.

Mine was like 5 months old and I got sponsorship approval within a few weeks. From what I was told, since spouses are income exempt-the letter isn't as important...

Thansk,
Do you mean that the 'offer' was for a certain date and that date has passed by a month and a half already? Why is this acceptable Forum? This means that the employment letter has no meaning, no? Or does it simply demonstrate that the sponsor shows the 'ability' to find employment?

No, it's not the offer. I have been working with my employer for quite a while. My case is that I take the employment letter on let's say 25th November 2009 and then travel back home to get married in early December and then submit tehe application in early January with the employment letter that was taken ono 25th November? Are you saying that my employment letter should be issued immediately prior to the date when I am sending the application?

Thanks.

are you a sponsor? I guess you will have to add your taxes too, and as long as you have it for a period of a year it doesn't matter for them if your letter is 2 months old or a few months.
good luck!

I already answered this for you up there, actually:

"A month and a half is fine."

The employment letter is just the employer saying the sponsor does work at the job and has been since whatever date and they sign it with their contact info, correct? Hopefully it doesnt have to be notarized that seems like a hassle for the employer!

He does not have an option c printout because he was in the US illegally from age 10 to 21. At 21 he came back to Canada and that was this April so he unfortunately has no record of taxes in Canada from any previous year.
