employment in Vancouver

Hi,
Does any one know what the current employment is like in Vancouver, within the IT sector.
Been reading a few posts on other sites and it seems to be a rather difficult process with the preference towards nationals at all times ?
is this the reality ? or just the opinion of certain people ?

It seems at the moment that Alberta is the better bet to get a job but I would call the unemployement services there to find out the potential of getting a job. Also get the vancouver newspaper or look on the net and see if in your job experience if it is in demand. Then apply.
