Hi all,

I am completely new to the idea of immigration in general, let alone the Canadian one. I have done only a day's homework skimming through the internet and have ended up more confused than before.

I will try to present my scenario but my main question has two parts:
- Given my case, am I eligible?
- If so, what's the potential of me being selected. I have heard that Canadian immigration is really tough, convoluted and somewhat biased.

Following is my bio-data. Let me know if I miss anything important.
  • Citizenship: Pakistan
  • Age: 29
  • ToEFL: R30,L30,S28,W25 - 113/120
  • Birth Country: KSA
  • Marital Status: Single
  • Qualification: 16 years of education (BE)
  • Work Experience: Almost 7 years (irrelevant to qualification)
  • History: During the last two years of my undergraduate, I started working On and Off, part-time for different businesses as a daily wage employee. Due to this experience, after graduation, I was able to easily be considered for full time similar roles in reputable businesses like cashier at KFC, Warehouse Assistant at a local hypermarket, packaging line operator at a local pharmaceutical etc. So, I have 2 years of discontinuous part-time experience and then 5 years (almost) continuous full-time experience. Being a graduate degree holder, I was recently (November 2017) promoted to the position of Trainee Officer at a pharmaceutical company I had worked at previously as a packaging boy. Currently, I hold this position.
  • Even though I have a good work history, only the last 3 months are only somewhat relevant to my qualification and are appropriate to it. Otherwise I was always over qualified for all previous jobs, however due to a lack of jobs and an abundance of graduates this isn't surprising.
Given my case, what's the probability and potential of me finding an NOC C or D category job?

I don't see any real possibilities for you to immigrate with the work experience you have now. For this to be possible, you would need a job offer in Canada. However job offers are generally next to impossible to get.

I would recommend you focus on getting at least a year of work experience in a skilled profession (i.e. NOC A, B or 0).

Yeah, this is entirely contingent upon a job offer.

1. You have good TOEFL so I assume you should be able to get a good IELTS score too.
2. You need 1 year of full time work experience to be eligible for applying under express entry program. If you have any work ex under NOC 0, A, B, then you should be able to apply. Check Six selection factors whether you are getting at least 67/100 points.
3. Your work experience doesn't has to match your bachelors degree.

Yeah. IELTS isn't the issue besides having to pay another 200 USD, but anyways.
The issue is that a year merely isn't sufficient enough to get selected. It just makes me eligible. Which 6 selection factors are you talking about?
