Hello guys,

Urgent help needed!

A visa exempt (UK citizen) in the process of getting PR based on BCPNP, has submitted full package - another few months left to finalize the process.
She has tried to obtain a WP at the border last week having all the documents (including AOR, the Letter of support from the BC Province, Job Offer, File number from the employer portal and more ) handy (The exemption code is T13 (PT Agreements R204)=Employer -specific work permit based on BC PNP. The employer needs this person yesterday!

The Border Officer turned her down explaining that she needs to see her valid Nomination certificate before he can proceed. The certificate has expired a few weeks ago and the Advisor from the Province advised that Nomination Extensions are only issued to nominees to be able to apply for PR and assured that for the Work Permit Application at the border, she can show copy of his Acknowledgment of Receipt Letter of Submitted PR application from IRCC as proof that his PR application was submitted to IRCC before the expiry date of his nomination.

Could you please share with me regulations that can be shown to the Border Officer?
Thank you!

Hi @Anatka, I'm sorry I can't be of help but I'm in a similar process (BC PNP nominated) but just about to get my offer of employment number so I can pick up a new work permit at the border as my current expires in 4 months.

When specified in the employer portal for:

'Expected duration of employment
Indicate in days, months or years the total duration of employment.

Note: Permanent resident programs and temporary work permits
Under certain permanent resident programs, candidates may be eligible to apply for a temporary work permit. In such cases, even though the job may actually be “permanent,” “indeterminate” or have no end date, employers submitting an offer of employment should still indicate the duration relevant to the temporary work permit.'
I'm really not sure what to write here, as the work permit is meant to be valid until a final PR decision is made? Would you be able to shed some light on this?
