Hello everyone,
Today I have received reference letter from my employer. It has every detail except job responsibilities do not match as stated on NOC website, although letter has correct NOC code written. HR says they can not change job responsibilities. Is there anyone who experienced same problem or any suggestion what to do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

My NOC code is correct and I am also performing my duties according to the noc website. But HR wrote the job responsibilities as same as in the offer letter and refusing to change those due to legal reasons.

So they wrote duties that are not those the ones that you perform?

If that is the case, you have two options:
  1. Find a NOC that suits those the duties listed in your letter.
  2. Ask the person/department that issued the letter in your company to make the necessary amendments and indicate, in writing, that they have listed the wrong duties based on:
    • Those are not the duties you've performed;
    • They don't match the NOC they listed in the letter.
If you can't find a NOC that fits these duties or if they continue to refuse to update the letter, you can attach a letter of explanation indicating that the company has filed to provide an accurate letter and indicate that the duties you've been performing do match those from the NOC you've chose (I would actually highlight the duties you've been performing, if not all, and make this very clear in the letter).

I would also attach any emails and communications with the people from your company so that you can prove that in fact you have requested them to produce an accurate letter but they failed to do so. That is why I am suggesting yo to do this in writing, otherwise there won't be a way for you to provide any evidence of this.

Lastly, the fact that they are saying that for legal reasons they can't give you a truthful letter, I think that is BS.

Good luck.

I am performing both the duties, those are in the letter and those are in the noc list. But, problem is that they are refusing to add those duties which are on the noc list. Can I attach the letter from my supervisor which lists job duties from noc website? It will not be on company letterhead.
