Hi everyone,
As read on various websites, employer reference letters are required from current and past employers.

My concern is that it would be extremely difficult to get employer reference letters here in India from past companies where I have worked. And all those are in different cities in India.

However, for all the past employers, with total 15.5 years of experience, I have job offer letters, appointment letters, confirmation letters, increment letters, payslips, relieving letters after resignation.

Will the above suffice instead of reference letters.

Please guide.

Nope, reference letter is the most crucial thing.

You have to have one

Other things you will research on the forum would be getting one from colleagues and get it notarized or writing LOE & all

There are options available but you can't make it without one and with just these supportings.

Also, I want to keep this immigration process confidential from my current employer. If I ask for employer ref letter, it may affect my chances of promotion as well as pay hike.

yes, you can ( get it on letterhead)

You can quote maximum of last 10 years experience. But only 3 years of work experience gives you maximum points in CRS score.
If you are able to get reference letter for 3 years then you can base your application on that. Also make sure that you meet the FSW criteria of 67/100.

I had submitted my e-APR on Jan 22 2017 and received CoPr on March 31st 2017.
From my experience I can say that you only need to provide proof for the work experience that you are claiming points for. If your work experience letter is not detailed enough , provide as many documents as you can to prove the nature of work you did. Make sure that you organize them in a single document (for each employment) and provide a cover letter in the beginning of the document.


Foreign work experience: I had 3.5 yrs of work experience but claimed only 1.5 yrs. (I had worked with 3 different companies in India and I could not obtain work experience letters from two employers (in CIC required format). I included it in personal history and left a note in the Letter of Explanation).

The letter was issued on company’s official letter head. Since it did not had a detailed description on my duties and responsibilities, I included an “email” from my former manager describing duties and responsibilities. I also provided copies of original offer letter, confirmation letter , relieving letter , performance appreciation letters, award statements I received. I scanned all these as a single pdf and included a cover letter explaining my situation. I guess that worked.


Canadian Work experience
I was able to get a letter from my manager describing duties and responsibilities and a letter from HR manager that included my joining date , hours per week , salary etc. I also included copies of recent pay slips, T4 and NOA from CRA. The letters were issued on company’s official letterhead.

I am working for the same employer 4.5 years. In that case I suppose only one employer reference letter is required if only 3 years experience is considered for max CRS score. Pls share your opinion

Hi

On my EE application I have inputted my work as an intern of duration of 3 months in a UK Company. I don't want to claim any point from there as the job I am doing is for 3 years.

So how should I put it in my post ITA application?Can I put it in my personal history as I have left the job and it was in a UK company?Do I need to write an LOE for that?

I only have their Reference letter and appointment email nothing more.

Please help.

Hi all,

My previous employer has provided a digitally-signed reference letter on the company letterhead (sent by email in PDF).
However, there is no company seal on the letter. Is this acceptable for IRCC?

Also, there is no mention of pay or salary in the letter provided.
Would it suffice to add the pay stubs to this letter?

Please advise.
