Hey Guys,

I know this question has been asked earlier, but i want a fresh perspective.
I had come to Canada on LMO work permit more than a year ago from India. My employer refused to issue me the reference letter for PR(CEC- Test Analyst) in particular, but I did manage to receive a letter, on company's letterhead, stating that i have to apply for US B1/B2 visa. The letter contains the following details :

employee id, company's name
date of joining the company in india
date when i was relocated to canada
My role
My canadian address
my annual compensation in canada
also states that this is a reference letter for B1/B2 visa

The only thing thats missing is my list of responsibilities for which my lawyer has submitted following supporting documents:

- cover letter stating that the company policy doesn't support issuing PR letters.
- my positive LMO documents that had my role and responsibilities
- Reference letter signed by my colleague/ then supervisor on normal paper, stating his empid, company name, contact details and my list of responsibilities. No business card attached though.
- My pay slips, and T4 for last year and the most recent one sent to CIC.

I had applied in Dec 2013 and have already received my AOR in Jan 2014, and have an open work permit valid until Mar 2015.
Could you please help resolve my extreme anxiety by answering, by experience, that if my application will be accepted and can i hope to get call for my medicals next month? Is there any chance that it can get rejected as the employer letter doesn't contain list of responsibilities?

Many Thanks,
Choco.

I cannot say for sure, but there is a possibility for rejection when your employer letter do not contain roles and responsibilities. I am not trying to put you down, but this is just a possibility.

My case is close to you. My Canadian employer refused to issue such letter as a policy. Then I reached out to the Indian branch(my actual work company) requesting the letter with roles and responsibilities. After 5 to 6 months of struggle they finally issued a letter as requested.

Then I submitted this letter (This letter should actually come from the Canadian company, but I do not have a choice) along with the same set of documents as you. Finally my PR application is approved and I got my passport stamped only yesterday.

As you already submitted your application in Dec 2013 your application processing will start in next couple of months for sure. All you can do now is wait patiently. I hope you will be through. Good Luck.

Given that your lawyer had provided the additional docs, you shouldnt worry. One of my friend just did the same (lawyer attached additional supporting docs) and he received his meds. He had applied couple of months before you.

Earlier (~1 year back) CIC used to reject such cases. Off late I have seen most such cases go through without any issues. So just chill and enjoy the good weather :)

agree with bondbond. You have done as much as you possibly can, more than some, and CIC seems to be accepting this when you have strong supporting evidence like you do. No guarantees, of course -

Thanks a lot for your inputs guys. I am keeping my fingers crossed and waiting:). My lawyer anyway said, if in any case the application is refused, there would be no other option but to reapply with a new reference letter, as my company wouldn't give me the employer letter.

Cheers,
Choco.
