Hi Everyone/jes_ON/PMM

Please advise, I got employer reference letter, It is on company letter head, signed by HR Manager with all required details,designation,Salary,etc. as per CIC website except my main job duties on it.

I had very tough time; my employer does not provide reference letter to anyone including - main job duties.
Please advise what can be done this situation.

Can your manager or supervisor provide your main duties? They have a better idea of what you do daily.

Now that you mention, my HR dept did not provide me a "main job duties letter", neither did my manager. My employer has a 'policy manual' that contains a description of all the job titles in our dept and their main duties as well as the education requirements and this is what they gave me along with a letter showing my hours, benefits, hire date, etc.

Since yours is an extension offer letter, ask them to re-issue it with a current date or may be sign it. I don't know if it will work for you, but it may be the next best thing.

I guess you need to include a copy of the extension offer that has your duties and hope it suffices.

Well, any time you do not give CIC what it asks for, your application at risk. The main duties are supposed to be part of the letter.

If you truly cannot get it, do the best you can (e.g. copy of earlier job letter or job description), and hope for the best, but understand that CIC is not obligated to make any special effort or exceptions for you.

Is the business card of the person who signed the letter attached to the letter, at least? It is likely that CIC will want to call that person to verify your duties.

Have you got the contract from the Service Canada for your Labour Market Opinion document from your employer stating the hours and job description?? you can include that in with your documents when applying through CEC cos we had to do that cos my husband's employer gave him a similar reference letter
