Hi everyone,

I'm starting to stress a bit, and was considering asking docveri.com or another company for help but everyone on here seems to think they are a waste of time! Everything else on my application is coming together fine but my old employer (9 years ago) is giving me some problems. Nobody that I worked with remains at the company so I am stuck dealing with an HR person, who will only give the vague job duties laid out in their generic HR info pack for my position. Unfortunately, the job title does not exist in the NOC either.

I was employed as an Environmental Scientist. The closest NOC I can find to my actual job description is 2231 - Environmental Technician. HR Lady refuses to adjust the title in the reference letter. Will this be a problem? Here is what she has written for the job duties. Do you think this will be suitable for 2231?

"The main duty of Geoffrey’s role, as Environmental Scientist, was to undertake field work and contribute to client projects with the support of other consultants. Some key responsibilities included:
 Undertaking technical and non-technical tasks including fieldwork and collating, analysing, interpreting and presenting data;
 Contributing to document preparation including PI reports, GMEs, ESAs, Soil Classification Letters, RAPs and Validation reports;
 Contributing to small scale or low complexity projects with supervision, identifying and communicating risks to Project Managers;
 Discussing project feedback from Formal Document Reviews and Fieldwork downloads (with PMs) to develop your understanding of contaminated land fundamentals and your general industry knowledge;
 Monitoring individual financial targets including utilisation and project cost control;
 Actively participating as a member of the team towards the achievement of financial goals and budgets;
 Working with Manager and Team Leaders to build business development knowledge on how best to promote our technical capabilities and offerings to clients;
 Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, sub-consultants and stakeholders; and
 Collecting local market intelligence that may aid XXXXXX to identify potential opportunities."

Pre-Assessed..
The question to you would be, are you claiming any points and/or does this work experience affect your eligibility in any manner?

This is the only skilled job I am using from my home country... all my other work has been in Canada over the past 4 years. So I'll be getting points from it for sure.
