Hi, everyone
I have a question about the employer compliance fee.
I am currently under PGWP and it will expire on 2024 Oct. And I got my OINP foreign worker approved last month. I received the nomination letter and the work permit support letter.
In the work permit support letter, it says the employer need to pay the employer compliance fee first, then I can apply for another close work permit.
However, the IRCC website is pretty confusing... As my employer read it, he thought he should hire my through the International Mobility Program first, then he can pay the compliance fee. But I thought he can pay the fee no matter where he hired me since I have the support letter and the nomination letter?
Since in the work permit support letter, it says LMIA exempt, can my employer transfer my open work permit to a close work permit after paying the fee?
Can someone help me to go through it or help me to understand how my employer will able to pay the compliance fee? It seems really confusing at this moment.
Thank you in advance
