Hi there,

I was wondering if this would be a big issue for applying CEC. My employer wouldn't provide my job description in a formal letter format. All I can get is just a copy of email sent through comany's email system by my manager stating my job description. In that email, it has my manager email signature on it(Her name, title, contact information). Would that be good enough for CEC?

I also have 2 letters: Job offer letter and Employment verification letter. Job offer letter has my work hours, brief paragraph of eligible benefits, my job title, start date)

I was wondering if all these documents would make me eligible for CEC application.

Thank you. I appreciate it.

Additionally attach a hard copy of the email that you sent to your employer requesting a formal letter format and the reply you received from them.
Also needed will be a brief on your Role and responsibilities and your pay stubs.

I think you are good to go with all these.

Looks like it is a big issue. Application rejected: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/application-rehected-t125744.0.html

Yes, please make sure that you have everything sorted out before you send your application. Unfortunately, recently a lot of applicants are getting rejected if theyre missing something esp. pertaining to employment verification.

Yes, it is a big issue. The job offer letter was written before you started working, so it's not proof that you actually did work. You don't state what information is in the employment verification letter. As for the emailed job description - it might help, but it depends on when it was written - is it recent?

All that you need to prove is that you have accumulated the required work experience (hours / years) in the eligible category. While Letter of Reference is a mandatory doc, you can also attach supporting docs which can push your case.

Work petition
Offer letter
Letter of Reference
T4 Tax Slip
Pay Stub
Bank Account statement to which your salary was credited

Hi Andy2109,

I have similar case. My employer doesnt provide a letter stating duties. He only provided letter stating Position, employed since & salary.
In addition, I submitted -
a) a write up stating the duties (not written by supervisor).
b) contract.
c) work permit petition submitted to CIC
d) all pay stubs for entire canadian experience. Also attached a brief that calculates total hours worked per year.
e) Bank statements
f) T4 & Notice of assessments

Should this be enough?

Hi
Could anyone please update me on the post.......

thanks

What does "consolidated pay" mean? Note that your most recent T4 and notice of assessment is required, so if you haven't filed a tax return, you will be missing 2 documents on the checklist and your application will not be processed.

tricktt,

You are good with all the docs & the write up that you have submitted. Based on your NOC code, I guess it is a 'biggie IT company' which has a standard format wherein duties and responsibilities are not listed in the Letter of Reference. No worries, your 'contract' and 'petition' also do contain details on your duties. So you are good. Keep your fingers crossed.

HI

Consolidated pay means the gross salary . Based on the tax slab you have to deduct Professional tax, PF , TDS ......but as my pay scale is under TAX DEDUCTION and also the company didn't include me in the tax norms....so i cant get a tax form for the year I'm claiming points on work experience.....can I show a SALARY CERTIFICATE as an alternate.....? ? plz update me on this.......

Unfortunately, it can't be used as an alternate - your most recent T4 and notice of assessment(NOA) are required. Ask your employer to rectify the issue(aren't they required by law to do this anyway?) so that you can file taxes or you will have to work another year and file taxes then so as to have a T4 and NOA(resulting in loss of time for you). Goodluck!

Thanks Andy2109!!! and yup... you are correct :)

From my CEC application experience, I learned that, never burn your bridges with your employer.. I had a hard time getting a letter from two of my previous employers too.. and I had to use the words, "it's required by law" before they did it (almost like I had to "threaten" them with law or government).. and even then it took them forever.. like months!!

Andy2109, what do you mean by work permit petition? I've never heard this before.. sorry.
