I don't think anyone needs to worry or focus on finding a MD that does emdicals.

Most of the time the results are passed onto CIC within a matter of weeks and CEC usually process them extremely quickly. Any other delays are due to the extensive number of applications CIC need to deal with and it is unlikely that emdicals will significantly reduce the wait times in the near future.

I'd suggest anyone requiring medicals, gets them done with whatever MD is available to see them next! Emedical registered or not!

Since its a new introduction, you will not find any link which states that the panel physician is emedical enabled, the only thing you can do is call them up and ask.... Its definately a faster process than the paper based medicals. They click a pic at the clinic and upload in the system with your details. You have to fill the forms as usual like you do for any paper based medicals. Its the same process you go through. After your done with the medicals, It takes 3 working days for them to upload the medical reports in emedical system. Once this is done the CIC is notified. Emedical is faster as it takes less than a week to be in the system while paperbased medicals take atleast 3 to 4 weeks with the whole process of sending the courier to CIC... Hope this helps..:)
I think this post gives a good brief on the value add that eMedical brings.

Folks,

I have managed to find that this is one physician in London - eMedical enabled.

Mary McDonagh
163 Commissioners Rd West,
Unit 1A, London, Ontario, N6J 1X9
519-859-8987
drmcdonagh53@GMAIL.COM

As I understand, the Australian and Canadian immigration officials have pooled their resources and are working together. The files are stored in huge databases in Australia and at the time of medical exam you will be asked to read and sign a consent form which will outline and explain the process.

Any idea what the costs are? The one in London quotes $160 (Adults) for eMedical exam + $55 Xray.

The doctor's office charged $145 (125 for medical + 20 for photos, you don't have to bring your own photos, they click the photos in the clinic) and 45$ for X-Ray

Thanks for sharing this Caribou. Yes it is a bit expensive. But as I said, now that actual photos are not required to be taken along (save photo charges) and there is no physical dispatch of results (save courier charges), physicians are smartly bundling the cost into the fees.

I did my medicals in December because i needed a new type of work permit and i used the emedial format. It took two days from the time my doc got the lab results for the results to reach ottawa. The day the courier got the package it was considered accepted. However there were some problems with my case because i wrongly got rejected for my work permit on Jan 17th because my 'medical weren't on file'. However when i called CIC they realized they'd made a mistake because my medical were delivered and considered on file since Dec 12th. They then issued me a new work permit and i didn't have to pay the fee again .
- the end :D

I had a quick question regarding taking the medical early. Is it possible to take the emedicals early? Like others have mentioned in other threads, if you're confident you will pass all checks (work experience, criminal record, etc) then it would speed things up. Does this also apply to emedicals? I'd like to get them out of the way, because I'm confident my application should be accepted.

Thanks.

emedicals in itself is a fast track approach to the medical process. Not sure how much will it help if you do it in advance. Nevertheless, if you are really confident of your application getting through and are good with other risks (medicals expiring in 1 year and corresponding fees), you can call up the panel physician in your location and schedule an appointment for Upfront eMedical exam. All the best!

I guess I'll just wait until it's required, like you said, the emedical is fast tracked. I just like to make everything as efficient as possible ;)
