Email Reply to Your Inquiry about your TRV Application

Hello guys/gals

Just to have a survey for those who emailed CIC regarding your TRV application; if you received the same reply:

Dear Applicant,
Reference: (........)

Your application is currently in process as per regulatory procedures.
Our office will contact you if any further action is required..
Should you wish to travel urgently and recover your passport, you may send us a request to withdraw your application.
You retain the option of applying for a temporary resident visa at the overseas mission responsible for the country where you will be travelling.

If you received that reply how many weeks before you received your passport with TRV? Are they really "currently" processing your application?

I guess this type of replies from email inquiries are generic and they do not really answer the exact status of the application.

processing times are just estimates..it can be either earlier or later..One just have to wait..wait and wait....

I once followed my TRV application as my application was behind the processing date (i counted by calendar date) and reply was "Your application is still under processing"

a week later I received the decision. The processing time was exactly same as published but based on business days...

What do you think they are doing with your application if not processing it?

Of course processing is wide enough... it covers from "we recieved it" to "a decision was made". So sitting there waiting for a good soul to take care of it is considered "processing".

I guess this type of replies from email inquiries are generic and they do not really answer the exact status of the application.

Of course they are generic.

I don't get why people think they will get an answer from an office which is flooded with applications, understaffed and can't deal with people that just because of not being patient needs to be poking them just to see "how things are going".

BE PATIENT!!!

(Mine took 40 days out of an estimate of 20. Estimates are just that, estimates.)

My paper application was received in Ottawa Processing Centre last April 4. I emailed them requesting to expedite my application April 26, for I need to go home to my country by second week of May for an important meeting.

I received an email stating this: "Your application is currently in process as per regulatory procedures. Our office will contact you if any further action is required..."
