Hi there. My partner received an email on May 19 from ottawa asking him to confirm his mailing address and when that happened I logged on and saw that it said decision made. What happens now. He's from scotland, so will he receive passport request, or was the email that. Sorry I'm just a bit confused. Thank you. Also my baby was due on Wednesday but he is still overdue. Do I need to contact CIC when he's born even thought he has decison made?

is your husband visa exempt? if so, then most likely his passport request was waived, as they probably used the copy of his passport in his application to issue his COPR. If he is not visa exempt, then he will receive instructions about sending his passport for his visa. They called to confirm the address where they need to send him either his COPR or PPR instructions. this is a good thing.

CIC doesn't need to be notified of the baby unless it's born before the pr lands. if the baby is a canadian citizen, then i think only notifiying cic of the birth is necessary and won't affect landing. i'm not even sure if that is necessary, so other members will confirm i'm sure. if the baby is not a canadian citizen, then they will need to be added to the application before the pr lands.

congrats!

VO will not send you anything to confirm your mailing address.

Have you ordered notes yet? I recall that it's been about 3 weeks since you asked your original question. If you ordered notes right after that, you should get your notes soon. Then you can confirm if your DM is really DM, and whether all your contact details are correct.

You probably did it correctly, but I just want to point out to you in case you did not do it correctly.

It's your husband who can order notes. You not being a PR yet have no right to do that. I know, it's strange how it works, but that's how it is. Well, the information that goes into the online application (the name, contact, address and proof of Canadian citizenship or PR...all this would be your husband's).

Just to make sure you don't wait 30 days and get rejected.

He applies for the information on your behalf, and you have to fill in the release of information authorization form to be uploaded with the application.

If you did it correctly, then just ignore this. Hope you get your notes soon and get some answers. Well, better yet, hope you get your COPR before your notes arrive. Problem solved.

your file would not change to DM if an interview is required. you would have received notification of an interview through a letter from CIC. without an interview and failing to respond to document requests, DM means you were approved, and you will receive either your COPR or PPR information in the mail. if you are visa exempt, expect your copr, if you require a visa, expect instructions for getting your passport instructions. how long it takes to get depends on how long regular mail takes to get to you from your visa office. it can take 1-4 weeks, depending where you are.
