Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi all,

I would be very thankful if someone could provide advice. My wife is sponsoring me. Her sponsorship application was approved on 23rd december and my pr application was forwarded to the London office for processing.

How do we receive confirmation that the pr application has started, by email or letter, and rough time for this to happen?

On the website we can see status under my wifes name, however, that simply is for her sponsorship approval and not my pr application. When i receive confirmation i take it i will get an id number so i can check my status?

Many thanks in advance for any help to clarify this for us

Most visa offices will send an AOR (acknowledgement of receipt) which includes your file number. However, your PR application status will be visible under your wife's login (she will see both the sponsorship and PR application information), so if it doesn't show up there London hasn't entered your information into the system yet.

Thank you Karlshammar for your reply. I shall keep checking my wife's online status for an update and expect to receive something through the london office.

Thanks again,
Scubadude

I'm not 100% sure that the London office will send an AOR. Some visa offices do, and some don't. I know Buffalo does since I was processed through there. Someone else who knows about London would be able to tell you for sure, but yes, your wife's eCAS will tell you for sure when they start to process it.

London seems to sometimes send the AOR and sometimes not. So if you don't get anything from them, don't worry. It's not unusual.

Well, when he doesn't get his AOR, it's not unusual to see him cry, oh he wanna die...

My husband's application is in London and we never received an AOR. We only knew when London started processing our application thorugh ECAS.

Just a head up, from my own expericence, once the application is in London, they usually do not update ECAS. The only updates you will see on ECAS is the date they began processing, the interview date (it there is one), and then when the visa has been issued.

See my husband redone his medicals in September 2009 and London has already received them, but that was never posted on ECAS. :(

Thanks for all the replies, i guess by the sounds of it for london its just a case of wait and see if i receive any confirmation they have begun processing the application by letter or through ECAS.
