Email from VAC

Hello guys,

My girlfriend applied for tourist visa through vac and after 2 weeks she receive this email:
ATTENTION: YOU MUST PRESENT A PRINTED COPY OF THIS E-MAIL WITH YOUR PASSPORT/S TO GET YOUR VISA.
This refers to your application for a temporary resident visa for Canada for the above-listed names and application numbers. We are now ready to finalize your application/s.
Please submit your passport/s with a printed copy of this email to one of the following Visa Application Centres (VAC). You must submit your passport/s no later than 60 days from the date of this notification. Failure to do so will result in an automatic refusal of your application without further notification.
Once received by the Embassy, your visa will be issued and passport returned to the VAC within 2 working days. As transit times to and from the VAC are location-specific, we recommend that you ask the VAC for an estimation of the transit time.
If you have obtained a new passport/s after applying for a visa, please inform the VAC of this change while you are submitting your passport/s.
Only you or someone you authorise may submit/pick up your passport/visa. This authorised person must present:
1. a letter of authorisation signed by you
2. his/her passport or national ID card
3. a printed copy of this e-mail
Please note that passports/visas may no longer be submitted/collected directly at the Embassy, unless you have been otherwise instructed.


Does it mean her visa is approved? Also, she included her passport in application, but they still say submit your passport.

1. She wasn't supposed to send in her original passport with her initial application. They make that very clear in their application instructions.
Did she receive it back? Or is it still witch CIC?
If it still is with CIC, you might wanna start finding out, where it is exactly and how you can get it back.

2. Yes, her application has been approved.

Just solve the passport issue asap. Otherwise you could be in trouble. If you don't make it within 60 days, her visa will be refused. Just for the reason, that she stopped responding.

VAC told her to include the passport in the application. She applied through VAC in Baku and they sent her application to VAC in Ankara. My brother lives in Ankara, so he tomorrow he will go and try to find out the passport. I hope it will be soon

Ok. In this case, you just need to find out, who's got your passport. Someone made a mistake at the VAC, when they send the second passport request.
