Hey guys!

After a few months of dead silence from Mexico City office we finally got news today. It looks like our official AOR2, as well as a Medical Examination request. We had submitted the medicals upfront with our application back in September, but they expire in a couple of weeks. I just want to make sure that this is a re-medical request? Or should I resend the ones we did already...? The wording in the letter is of course very vague..

When you login to MyCIC account does your medical show passed?

Yes they show as "Passed"

send a copy of your current medical. do not get a re-med unless it is SPECIFICALLY requested. if there is no specific mention of your medicals expiring in the letter, then they are requesting you to upload what you currently have. medicals are valid for 12 months and can be extended, so let THEM tell you their validity is an issue.

Yes there is no mention of validity or anything like that... Basically this is what it says:

"In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following: Medical Examination"

Also, if only resending the one we already did.. Is it better by regular or email?

so send what you have. if there were no instructions for how to submit, send them through a case specific enquiry or through your MYCIC account, if allowed. more than likely you received a generic letter that is sent to everyone. to know, look for language that says "If" before the request.

It also says to print and fill out form Imm1017E, which I have never seen before. Last time the doc just gave us the E-Medical Information Sheet...

And I checked.. our medicals were done on March 10th last year... So almost expired..

that's probably the new medical form that is now required for getting an exam as part of the new application. this wasn't available when you applied. again, send them what you CURRENTLY Have and ask them if another one is needed or if they will extend the results. there is no point in paying for a new medical when they can still use your current one and possibly extend it. your file is not going to be cancelled or rejected because you submitted an exam receipt from the "old" process. you are not an IRCC officer, so you can't possibly determine what they will consider valid or not (except for the obvious things), so let IRCC tell you another medical is needed.

IMM1017 is actually the old form that was used with the paper system, prior to the implementation of the eMedical electronic system. It is still used in the few offices that don't have the eMedical system.

If you see a request for a medical exam, you must:

download and print the IMM 1017 form, which will be issued to you and all family members (if applicable) with instructions for completing the medical exam
make sure you bring the IMM 1017 form with you to your exam. This will ensure you aren’t asked to do medical tests that aren’t needed to process your application.
take the medical exam within 30 days of receiving the request in your online account

Thanks guys.. Just noticed that on MyCIC our medicals have changed from Passed to In Review.. I already sent a Case Specific Inquiry, resending our old medicals.

Hopefully nothing else is needed at this point?

I'm still nervous that we should be redoing medicals at this point...

Since you used the old forms, what do you see in your linked MyCIC account? No request?

I'm not sure what you mean.. we got an email a couple days ago which looked like the official AOR2 from Mexico office. Along with it came a message saying that in order to keep processing our file Medicals had to be sent. As advised by other members here, I resent our old ones, as nothing was said regarding validity of those exams. As previous posters have said, I should not do new medicals unless specifically told that the old ones are no good.

MyCIC only shows medicals as in review now.. a couple of days ago they were Passed..

Just an FYI... Mexico City replied saying that they need new medicals done as our first ones are already expired. So that's that
