Hi all, I'm new to the forum and just wanted to share my experiences and ask a question. I submitted my PR renewal application in August 2016 and my application was referred to secondary review in October 2016. Since then I've just been waiting and haven't heard anything back.

Starting this year I've been working abroad, and I am wondering if/how this will affect my PR card renewal. Also, if and when my new card is granted, will it be mailed to my Canadian address or would I have to physically show up to pick up the card?

Being abroad does not affect your PR card, they look at the past 5 years before submiting the application if this will affect anything itll be your next PR card renewal.

It depends mostly PR cards are mailed but if they want to verify information or something they ask you to pick it up

applied on 12th december 2016
they start processing on January 11
send for secondary review on 30th Jan

we are family of 5
i have lot of travel every 2 months to Pakistan as my mother lives there
i complete 825 days in Canada
rest of my family lives here kids are in school isend all the school report cards
my wife lives here has an illness and visit physician every 3rd month
i and my wife raise ATIP is it of any help

Hi error 34,

an ATIP file will just help you to know exactly the status of your application. It will not speed up or delay the process.

Hope things will work faster for you than it's working for other fellows in here!!!

I had the same problem as you, but I was typing my name wrongly

You can also request an ATIP file to know exactly the status of your application.

Make sure that you are typing just the family name and not your full name. In addition all the info needed like DOB,Country,etc should match exactly with the one you sent to CIC.
For Identification Type i personally always used my Client Identification ID.
