I applied for Canadian immigration last year but recently had my application rejected because the list of eligible jobs changed (after I submitted my application).

I work in IT but was surprised to find that this field no longer appears on the list despite reports of an ongoing skills shortage. (IT managers are listed but not practitioners).

I was wondering how often this list is revised and whether IT jobs are likely to re-appear.

Would I do better:

1 - waiting until IT jobs re-appear

2 - creatively describing my role as a manager (I'm a practitioner but have been involved in recruitment, appraisal, training & supervision of junior staff and usually have sole responsibility for the projects I work on).

3 - take a manager role (& associated pay cut)

Any advice much appreciated.

Choice # 2 is like trying to cheat the system unless you elaborate. Your skills, education and background must match 0213 NOC; I don't think one get through by being creative.
