Does anyone know whether I would be eligible for the FSWP per below;

36 years old
IELTS 9S,9L,8.5R,8W
8 years skilled work experience under Class B NOC (2282 - User support technician)
BTEC National Diploma (Awarded 1996) in Computer Studies (I studied a 2 year full time course in the UK)
British Citizen (Living in Australia)

Im getting pretty confused now as I was sure I have more than 67 points but after reading canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/have-you-got-your-eca-done-read-this-t270913.0.html I'm not sure I will.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

what level qualification is your btec? I don't know much about them but I assume they do different qualification levels? if, like the post you've linked ,yours is a level 3, and that equates to one semester of post secondary education, then no you don't qualify. As per this link here, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-factors.asp, the education credential needs to be equal to a completed Canadian credential.

ok, i googled it. Wikipedia might not be the most accurate source so forgive me if I'm wrong.
You said national diploma so according to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_and_Technology_Education_Council that'a a level 3, a school leavers qualification. that's not equal to any college/university credential, and according to the wes report the other guy had done, its equivalency in Canada is one semester of post secondary education. Sorry..

Yes, its a level 3 (The same as the other poster) though in the UK that is equivalent to 2 or 3 "A-Levels"; seems a bit strange that it would only be assessed as 'one semester of post secondary education'

Thanks for your help.

aren't A-levels done in secondary school there? to be honest, its surprising that a btec would be classed as any sort of post secondary education if they're equivalent to A-levels. i get that you can do them in a college or secondary school but they or a btec are required to be admissable to university so they're not college/university credentials...sorry its not better news. You could maybe do some further education to boost your points. Good luck.
