Hi,
I did the assessments myself and scored more than 67 points, so I know I am eligible to apply. However I cannot score more than 482 EVEN IF (that's a big 'if') I score full points in IELTS. So does spending lakhs to agencies make any sense?

I am;
30 years old
Has Engineering degree (Will pass WES)
Has a wife (masters degree)
5 years work experience in front end development (Web designing)

I have no canada experience or relatives there. So basically when I calculated the CRS I can't get more than 482 no matter how hard I try. But agencies say I will be able to migrate successfully. What do you think?

Agencies will tell you this to get your money, but they only have access to the same information you do. They cannot predict CIC's next moves or rule changes. Everything you need is on the CIC website and the respective provincial governments' websites.

You can look for a provincial nomination program to add 600 points--check the 3rd sticky thread on this forum.

With a score like 482, you will definitely get an ITA.

No need to go to agencies. This forum is pretty good at answering any doubts you may have. Spend the money in optimizing IELTS scores, or applying for PNP.

Thank you both. I was wondering then how people with no canada experience get invited, may be the agencies are lying, they take payment upfront. Will definitely check on PNP

Btw - I have a few clients in Canada who run web design companies. Can they simply give me a job offer or do they have to through any time consuming procedures to do that? I can request a job offer if it won't be tedious for them on their end.

FSW program awards points for work experience anywhere in the world.

They would need to sponsor your work permit. And to get a work permit, they would have to get LMIA approved from the Govt. of Canada:

I'm in the same boat, i have 474 CRS, and even with CLB10 adn wife's CLB10 i will have 482 points, but i don't want to waste my time on IELTS since i took it twice already and CLB9 is OK. I'm just hoping that the scores will drop at least to mid 470 range.

How can you "try hard" with the CRS tool? You just enter the information "truthfully" and it does the hard work for you.

Anyways, you opened this thread just to brag about your score. Congrats on having 482!

Dude, read the post one more time:
He hasn't applied for EE, he hasn't taken IELTS yet and has no ECA, has wife hasn't taken IELTS either and has no ECA. So that score is just his imagination :) you have to commit to IELTS clb10 and make sure to get WES (masters) than it will be possible to get 482, but in reality you will either have 410 with CLB7 or 465-475 CLB9.
Best of luck to you

OP means how hard he has tried to boost his CRS score, he can get 482 maximum.

"A positive LMIA will show that there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job. It will also show that no Canadian worker is available to do the job. A positive LMIA is sometimes called a confirmation letter."

Fat chance then :(
