Hi,
this is Raj and I want to apply for citizenship. i spent 1305 days in Canada as permanent resident in last 4 years. As my days with eligibility period are more than 1095 but my total time is less than 5 years. so am I qualified to apply for citizenship?

You need to be present in canada 3 out of last 5 years. Total time is not required to be 5 years, just 1095 days inside canada. Based on 1305 days in canada you are eligible to apply.

thanks Yasir for your reply
as you said 3 out of last 5 years. so even if i spent 3 out of 4 years, so I consider myself eligible ?

You need to have been physically present in Canada for 3 years in the 5 years preceding the date you apply. So if you apply today June 14 2019 you need to show 3 years from today back to june14 2014. Does not matter if you have only been a PR for 4 years as long as you have the 3 years minimum physical presence in last 5 years.

i came to canada in 2015 on PR basis and never went out of country Canada. so I spent more than 3 years but in pysical presence calculator I was not present in canada from june 2014 to august 2015

Forget the 3 out of 5 stuff if you're confused.
You can apply today.

Your eligibility period should be 5years which is 2020 from 2015.
This is obviously incorrect. The official website is quite clear, this isn't the case.

Adults [...] must have been physically present in Canada for at least 1095 days during the five years right before the date you sign your application.

The original poster has enough days of presence in Canada to apply for citizenship.

Yes, you can apply right now.

I became PR in January 2015. I applied for citizenship in July 2018 with about 1,200 days of physical presence. I am taking my oath of citizenship in two weeks.

that's totally incorrect ,you just need 1095 days presence in Canada within 5 years, that's all, doesn't matter if you complete 5 years or not because some people live 3 years continuously after landing without leaving Canada like my case ,i came on 8 November 2015 ,lived here until November 2018 without leaving (which means completd 1095),i have applied for citizenship on November 2018(last year) and i became Canadian citizen last month
