I have a question if anyone knows the right answer. I am on PGWP right now and my spouse is on SOWP. If we are having a baby now on our current work permit status. Are we eligible to apply for the extension of our Work permit? If we don’t get PR before our expiration of WP. Do we get Work permit for extended period after the baby is born as a Canadian Citizen??

Birth of the baby is totally separate and you do not derive any immigration benefits because it’s a Canadian citizen

Kinda strange you’re asking

No. Having a baby in Canada doesn't give you any benefits on your immigration process.

No immigration benefits of any kind at this time or in the near future. If you want to stay and work longer, you need to qualify yourselves.

Once your child is an adult and working in Canada they may be able to sponsor you for PR. But that is 20+ years out

No. Having a baby here will not help to qualify for work permit extension. And it won't help you to get PR in the mean time.

Actually you both need to qualify on your own for work permit.
If the person who is on PGWP needs to rest for giving birth, then won't it be harder to get a job/qualify for a new work permit instead?
