Hello.

A family member would like to have her elderly widowed mother, who lives in Pakistan, visit her next year. My family member and her husband both have decent income and assets. Their intention is only to have her visit for a few months at a time.

Is it advisable to apply for a vistor visa or Super visa? My concerns:

1. approval - is it easier to get approved for a super visa in this situation?
2. timeline - is the process quicker for visitor visa?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Really depends on the financial status of the mother, her ties to Pakistan and whether she has travelled internationally to countries like the UK, US, Australia, etc. in the past 5-10 years. TRV is more dependent on the mother’s assets where as supervisa is mainly based on the children.

The mother has sufficient finances to support herself, but not well-off. She has other two childrens' families in Pakistan, but lives alone. She has not travelled to any Western countries in over 10 years.

There is no clear cut answer.
