Yea man the reason why you're able to get the news through VFS is because you made paper application. I will try to go to my VFS tomorrow and see how can they help me.

I got back from VFS and I gave my passport to them. In the next few days I should be able to go to Canada hopefully! Apparently they never updated my file, and found out recently that the processing has been done.

If there's a holiday week coming up then the Visa office will try to make decisions for as many applicants as possible, so dont stress.
